C - TECC (Tactical Emergency Casualty Care)
C-TECC is an advanced training programme designed for organisations operating in complex environments where there is a risk of traumatic incidents or violent situations. It is tailored to companies, corporations, and institutions with international operations that must ensure an immediate and effective medical response in contexts where emergency services may be delayed or limited. This programme enables organisations to strengthen operational resilience by equipping their teams with critical skills to respond effectively to medical emergencies in high-threat environments. The training directly contributes to reducing preventable mortality, enhancing crisis response capabilities, and reinforcing compliance with Duty of Care obligations towards personnel deployed in high-risk or remote settings.
About the
C-TECC programme
C-TECC (Tactical Emergency Casualty Care) is an intensive two-day (16-hour) training course focused on the management of casualties in tactical or unsafe environments, where operational conditions differ significantly from those in conventional medical settings.
Based on internationally recognised standards developed by the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) and the Committee for Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (Co-TECC), this programme adapts tactical medical practices to civilian and corporate contexts.
Organisations operating in high-risk environments—such as infrastructure, energy, logistics, extractive industries, or complex urban settings—may face critical incidents including terrorist attacks, serious accidents, civil unrest, or mass casualty events. The C-TECC programme provides a structured framework to enable an effective and coordinated response in such scenarios.
Key benefits by attending our course
Participants will develop key skills to:
- Rapidly assess mass casualty situations in unsafe or high-threat environments.
- Apply tactical medical care protocols in line with the prevailing threat level.
- Prioritise interventions to reduce preventable mortality.
- Integrate medical care into the overall management of critical incidents.
- Coordinate medical evacuation in complex and resource-constrained environments
The primary objective is to ensure effective stabilisation of casualties until they can be safely transferred to an appropriate medical facility.
Target audience
The C-TECC training course is designed for:
- Corporate personnel deployed in high-risk environments or remote locations.
- Corporate security and crisis management teams.
- Operational personnel within industrial sectors or engaged in international projects.
- Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), Risk, and Security Managers.
- Internal emergency response teams.
- Organisations operating in areas exposed to violence, terrorism, or major accident risks.
Although TECC was originally developed for first responders (such as healthcare professionals and law enforcement personnel), its adaptation for the private sector enables non-medical staff to be trained to respond effectively in critical situations.
Methodology and instructors
SAHCO Consulting delivers training through certified instructors with extensive operational experience in tactical medicine, emergency management, and high-risk environments.
Our methodology combines:
- Theoretical instruction based on internationally recognised standards.
- Intensive practical training (accounting for up to 70–80% of course time).
- Realistic simulations conducted in controlled environments (indoor and outdoor).
- Critical incident scenarios tailored to corporate and operational contexts.
Participants engage in scenarios that replicate real-life situations—such as mass casualty incidents or active threat environments—enabling them to apply protocols under pressure and in conditions of uncertainty.
Content can be fully tailored to the client’s risk profile, sector, and geographic footprint.
What will you learn from the C-TECC training course?
Our methodology integrates multi-source intelligence, scenario modelling, and forward-looking analysis to identify emerging threats and opportunities.
Medical management in tactical environments
- Principles of tactical medicine applied to civilian contexts.
- Key differences between conventional and tactical pre-hospital care.
- Integration of safety considerations into medical response.
- Assessment of scenes involving active threats (e.g. attacks, civil unrest).
- Triage protocols and casualty prioritisation.
Intervention across the three tactical phases
The programme is structured around the three key phases of TECC:
- Care in the immediate danger zone (hot zone).
- Care in the indirect danger zone (warm zone).
- Care during the evacuation phase (cold zone).
During these phases, participants will learn to:
- Adapt medical interventions to the prevailing level of risk.
- Ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.
- Manage casualties in dynamic and rapidly evolving environments
Emergency & trauma care
- Management of massive haemorrhage (critical priority).
- Airway management and ventilation.
- Treatment of trauma, fractures, and burns.
- Management of shock and patient stabilisation.
- Techniques for the evacuation and transport of casualties.
- Management of mass casualty incidents
These competencies are designed to significantly reduce preventable mortality in critical situations.
